What are parabens?

Updated: Jan 9

Oftentimes when a customer reaches out, inquiring what products to use, they share with me their current regimen. Typically it is one of 2 national brands: CeraVe or Cetaphil. Both of these brands are HUGE. They have a marketing team and have spent millions of dollars marketing to you: dermatologist recommended, sensitive skin, etc. You share with me: your skin has become irritated and dry.

Over time, the ingredients in these 2 products can cause irritation. When I dig further into the ingredient list of these two cleansers, not one ingredient is natural. All are synthetic, with minimal benefit to your skin. Two notable ingredients (red flags) are parabens: Methylparaben, Propylparaben. Parabens can interfere with the production of hormones. Parabens can act like the hormone estrogen in our bodies. They disrupt the normal function of hormone systems. Parabens are preservatives used to extend the shelf life of a product by preventing microbial contamination. There are a host of other ingredients in these cleansers that do nothing for your skin. If you are looking for a clean alternative to these drugstore brands, reach out. I offer one on one, specialized attention in assisting you with your skin and hair products. My mission is to steer us away from these unhealthy products and shine a light on their green-wash marketing. Below is a nourishing cleanser I formulate that is plant-based. This formula is highly effective in healing your skin.

Nourishing Facial Cleanser : perfect for all skin types, mature, dry, aging, combination skin
