The September equinox signifies Persephone's return to the underworld, reuniting her with Hades (Pluto), her husband, as winter looms. In the Fall, Persephone was abducted by Hades (Pluto) to the underworld, eventually emerging to bring spring.
Persephone shows up as an asteroid in our birth charts.
