Loving Care for Winter Skin and your Spirit.

Aging skin, especially on our hands and face begins to change due to a lack of collagen and elastin. Wrinkles begin to show as collagen dissipates. Dry, winter air can make the problem worse. A great moisturizer or serum can help dramatically with hydration and help soften the effects of aging skin. Some beneficial ingredients include:

  1. Lavender is a skin cell regenerator. This herb is helpful for mature skin and those wishing to have anti-aging effects.

  2. Pomegranate seed oil is a skin-tightener. This oil helps to keep skin firm. It is also helpful with UV induced photo-aging.

  3. Camellia Seed Oil contains high levels of antioxidants. This plant oil can help diminish UVB-induced sun damage.

  4. Mango butter is an excellent skin softener and has been reported to lessen wrinkles and signs of aging.

  5. Helichrysum essential oil helps to regenerate skin tissue and relieve inflammation as well as protecting the skin from free radical damage.

  6. Marshmallow Root helps to soothe skin irritation caused by eczema and dermatitis.

Lack of sleep and stress are other factors that can contribute to lackluster skin. A routine prior to slumber can help get your body prepped for rest. A few helpful tips to wind down in the evening:

  • Draw yourself warm, grounding Epsom Salt Bath. I typically put 1 cup of Epsom under warm water. Soak for about 15-20 minutes.

  • Apply a moisturizer that contains lavender before you go to sleep. The body cream pictured below is great for dry skin and is formulated with lavender.

  • Applying a sleep balm to the soles of your feet is soothing and grounding. I formulate a beautiful sleep balm that contains lavender and vetiver. Applied to the soles of your feet, this balm helps bring energy away from your mind and out through your feet.
